What a Headache!! Migraines and Stress

Headaches? Check your stress levels!

New research confirms that stress contributes to the onset of headache disorders and it accelerates the progression to chronic headache, and the headache experience itself can – in turn – serve as a stressor. Dr. Sara H. Schramm from University Hospital of University Duisburg-Essen in Germany suggests that mind/body treatments, including meditation, yoga or tai chi, and behavioral treatments such as stress management, coping skills, biofeedback and relaxation training may decrease headache frequency by 35% to 50%.
