Ajay has over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, Organization Development consulting, leadership training, executive coaching and counseling. Because of his extensive corporate experience he relates well to the challenges working professionals face in their personal and professional life. His work as a Pastor and pastoral counselor has added a spiritual centered, holistic and ethical approach to life. He has a Diploma in Coaching Supervision (CSA, UK) and has a PCC credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF).

His qualifications include:

  • PsyD (Doctor of Clinical Psychology) current learner at California Southern University
  • PhD (Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University);
  • MS (Training & HPI from Capella University);
  • MA (Biblical Studies from Trinity Seminary);
  • BSc (Chemistry from Mumbai University).

He completed his initial counselor training – level 1- in 2004, and level 2 in 2007 from Person to Person Institute of Christian Counseling. Over the last decade he has worked with adults and couples on issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, life transition challenges and wellness. He has counseled in a pastoral context, and also has his own secular practice that draws clients from organizations that he has worked with as a consultant and an executive coach.

As a counselor, he uses an eclectic, evidence-based, holistic approach that is person-centered. His approach integrates the best of emotion focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and psycho-education. In addition, he draws strongly from positive psychology, mindfulness work, and physical wellness. He believes that an individual’s family, social, spiritual and cultural context have a strong influence on his/her life, and these need to be taken into consideration in the counseling process.

In 2014, he got trained and credentialed in wellness from the National Wellness Institute (USA); he holds the WCP credential (Wellness in Clinical Practice). His wellness clients have had success not only in losing weight but, more importantly, in moving to healthier and better-balanced life styles.

To support his counseling work, he has got professional certifications in Emotion Focused Therapy (Levels 1 & 2 from York University) and Cognitive Based Therapy (Levels 1 & 2 from Albert Ellis Institute). In addition, he is currently pursuing his PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) program from California Southern University. He is a member of the American Counseling Association (www.counseling.org) and subscribes to its code of ethics.

Three aspects that define him as a counselor: Care, Competence, and Change! He genuinely cares for his clients. He brings a high level of competence and is committed to ongoing learning and supervision to enhance his knowledge and skills. And, his focus is to help his clients start creating the change they want, right from the first session itself!

He is committed to Wellness and integrating it in all aspects of one’s personal and professional life.His latest book published on Amazon/Kindle distills his personal Wellness journey: ‘A Fat Guy’s Guide to Fitness’ – http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IL607M6.

As part of his own wellness journey, he is passionate about Yoga and in 2105 completed his RYT 200 teacher training credential from Yoga Alliance.

Languages used: English and Hindi (conversational fluency).  Happy to work on SKYPE if that suits you!

(I especially work with senior leadership levels – CXO and two levels down – as an executive coach; so, I’m used to working with senior folks as their executive counselor too!)
